The content of every workshop session is designed to cater for the specific, immediate creative development needs of those attending — which means you can attend regularly, sporadically, or just once (whatever suits your schedule and budget), and still benefit from strategies and support directly tailored to your unique creative goals. This ensures that every session you come away equipped for your next creative challenges.

VALUE FOR MONEY

Each online session costs £20 for 2 hours of interactive creative development — and can be booked individually or as a discounted bundle of 6 sessions (for £108).

Each in-person session costs £25 for 2 hours of interactive creative development and includes a beverage and sweet treat from GiLMARTiN’S CAFE & BAKERY. Sessions can be booked individually or as a discounted bundle of 6 sessions (for £140).

FLEXiBiLiTY GUARANTEED

Another uniquely flexible feature of our workshops is every booking can be banked and used as and when you want to.

You can also switch between or combine CREATE and REFiNE workshops, depending on what is best for you at any given time — all sessions are flexible and will adapt to best serve each attending writer’s unique evolving needs and preferences.

If you can’t attend a workshop you’ve booked for, let us know beforehand and you’ll be able to move your booking to the next available CREATE or REFiNE session (whatever works best for you) — ensuring you get the best possible return for your investment.

CREATiVE CONSULTATiONS

Book a consultation to discuss your writing project and/or process in detail — and we will provide you with strategies, tools and suggestions to help you achieve your creative goals. Consultations can take place for 60-90 minutes online (£75) or in-person (£85 including coffee & cake) — whichever suits you best. You can submit up to 60 double-spaced pages, or 30 single-spaced pages, as well as audio and/or visual material. You decide how you’d like to use the time, and what you’d like to focus on, in terms of input and/or constructive feedback.

CREATE and REFiNE writing workshops and one-to-one consultations are facilitated by Stephen Barnes, a creative polymath with decades of professional experience empowering hundreds of writers — across all forms and levels of experience — to explore and fulfil their unique creative potentials by providing bespoke development strategies and support to them and their projects. He has worked with successfully with award-winning playwrights, authors, poets and screenwriters, as well as acclaimed directors, designers, musicians and visual artists, and also with creatives of all ages just beginning to explore their creative potential. He has created and facilitated for highly visible organisations like the BBC, NHS, Tron Theatre, Playwrights Studio Scotland and Bijli Productions, amongst others, and also created projects focused on developing and showcasing the creativity of individuals in less visible, under-resourced communities across Scotland.
